Artificial reef for prince Albert II

About the project

When Prince Albert II of Monaco asked world-record diver Pierre Frolla to design an artificial reef in tribute to legendary oceanographer Albert Falco, Pierre came to us with his hand sketches. Together with the marine engineers at SETEC, we turned those drawings into a real, functioning underwater habitat.

This project is a perfect showcase for how we use freeform creativity. Natural marine ecosystems aren't made of flat blocks, and traditional concrete molds just can't capture the complex, organic cavities needed to shelter local sea life. Our 3D printing tech allowed us to accurately replicate Pierre’s designs, shaping a reef that looks and functions just like a natural home for the fish.

Even better, it's a massive step forward for environmental impact reduction. Because we only deposit concrete exactly where the structural and ecological design demands it, we use less material and completely eliminate waste. We aren't just dropping a heavy concrete block into the ocean; we’re printing a smart, tailored ecosystem engineered to help Monaco’s marine biodiversity thrive.
